Art Deco Wood + Resin Trinket Box

This art deco-themed, handmade jewellery box made from resin and solid wood by artisans from North India. This hardwood with dense grains, is durable and can withstand the wear and tear of time. Resin art is created by mixing resin with a hardener. A chemical reaction makes the liquid resin to gradually solidify. The result is a high-gloss, luminous clear surface. Colour pigments are then added to the resin to create a masterpiece that is both novel and exclusive. Hand carved woodwork employs the use of sharp tools like chisels to create highly detailed designs and fine inscriptions on wood by hand. This distinguishing feature results in unique pieces that are hard to replicate. This art form is widely practised in India and involves long hours of manual labour and precision.
